Born and raised in south Florida to Dominican & Uruguayan immigrants, Vyky left her career as a high school educator to pursue directing. While acquiring her MFA in Film Production at Florida State University, she gained significant recognition for her science fiction short RESTORE and coming-of-age romance short OUR TERMINAL (selected as Jury Winner in the Student Awards by the Directors Guild of America, East). She writes and direct stories in hopes to provide audiences with a cathartic experience. She’s drawn to sci-fi and biopics that showcase characters in extraordinary situations. Vyky is fascinated by the power of culture so she began her pursuit of directing the future Britney Spears biopic and building her own sci-fi anthology: Re-Collection.

Vyky’s films have been showcased in film festivals throughout the country, and in Europe & South America.

Giving back remains a key part of her work, so she started a grant initiative with her sisters, 100 Voices of Florida, to bring more opportunities to Floridian filmmakers.

For those with big ideas, but uncertain of where to start, Vyky offers an introductory 8-week screenwriting course. She will guide you to find your voice through the key components story structure, screenwriting format, and ensures you will finish with script to a short film that’ll be ready to produce!
